VIDEO and PHOTOS: Bicyclist Taken to Hospital After Accident With Car in Providence

On Tuesday night, a bike and auto accident required an emergency response by the Providence Fire Department, including EMTs on the site.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital.
The accident took place on Memorial Boulevard at about 9:30 PM.
The condition of the bicyclist is not known.

The Providence incident is just the latest in a series of accidents in Rhode Island.
25-Year-Old Woman Died in Smithfield
On Monday, a 25-year-old female bicyclist was struck and killed by a truck in Smithfield. The woman killed was identified as 25-year-old Aliana Ciacciarelli.
On Tuesday afternoon, following a statement released earlier in the day appealing to the public for help, police announced they located the truck they say was involved in the deadly incident.
"The Smithfield Police Department has identified the operator, truck and trailer involved in this collision," said Smithfield Police. "This incident is still under investigation; therefore, no other information will be released at this time. We would like to thank the community for assistance in this identification."

Linda Zanghetti Sherman, 53 years old, was killed on June 20 in North Kingstown while riding her three-wheeled bicycle.
Suspect Daniel Famiglietti who was suspected of drunk driving was arrested following the crash on Boston Neck Road.
Police said the victim was riding a tricycle in the breakdown lane just before 7 p.m. when she was hit from behind by a Jeep.
Famiglietti, 59, of Warwick, was charged with driving under the influence, resulting in death.
