Watts, along with Raimondo, Attorney General Peter Neronha, Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, and more, addressed the Moms Demand Action activists in the State Room before the group dispersed to lobby members.
"I was proud to sign and advocate for the domestic violence bill. That took three years, and you made the difference here, day after day, hearing after hearing," Raimondo told the crown assembled. "Same thing last year -- red flag -- I signed that executive order."

"Most of our neighbors have these -- we have to get it done," said Raimondo.

"I've been in law enforcement for 20 years and I really do believe these bills will make the public safer," said Neronha. "Our police officers won't be outgunned when they respond to mass shootings. I believe the school bill will keep our kids safer."
Gun rights activists have a lobby day planned at the Rhode Island State House for next Tuesday.
