T.F. Green Airport welcomed the first direct flight from Nantucket, Massachusetts on Friday.

Southern Airways Express CEO Stan Little and Chief Marketing Officer Mark Cestari were on the flight that was welcomed to the Northstar Aviation facility at the airport by Rhode Island Airport Corporation CEO Iftikhar Ahmad and other airport officials.

Tickets for the daily service are available for purchase here. 

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation on Wednesday announced in May that Southern Airways Express would begin offering service at Green. 

“We have every reason to believe T.F. Green is the perfect access point for those looking to get to Nantucket quickly and hassle-free and we are very pleased to announce Southern Airways Express as our newest airline partner,” said Ahmad at the announcement. 

Service will continue through October 14. Flights will operate daily, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with fares beginning at $179 each way. 
 
“We are excited about entering this market and believe T.F. Green will be a convenient gateway for New Englanders and travelers throughout the country to get to one of the region’s best summer destinations,” said Cestari.
