VIDEO: Woonsocket City Clerk Seen Drinking Beer During City Council Meeting on Zoom

City Clerk Harmon enjoying a cold one during the official council meeting.
Woonsocket City Clerk Christina Harmon enjoyed both dinner and a cool frosty beer during the Woonsocket City Council meeting broadcast on zoom Wednesday night.

It has clearly been a long pandemic for the members of the City Council and their staff. The group seems to have gotten very casual.

During the course of the official meeting, Harmon left her position to get some food and a Corona beer during the official meeting on the city.

The role of the city clerk is "to convey information and facilitate access to city records and documents to the general public on behalf of the bodies of city government.”

Harmon, when reached by GoLocal, immediately apologized.

"We were having dinner and my daughter got up to go, and said, “Mom, do you want to finish my beer” — I said sure," said Harmon.

"I thought I had Zoomed out. Did I have a couple of sips? Yes. I apologize, I probably shouldn’t have," she added.  "I’ve been to a million of these meetings this past year."

Neither Council President Dan Gendron or Council member David Soucy returned phone calls.
