Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo and health officials are expected to announce new restrictions at 1 PM in light of rising coronavirus cases in the state.

On Friday, the Rhode Island Department of Health announced 482 new cases on 14,562 tests on Thursday.

The number of tests conducted by colleges and universities — and asymptomatic tests — was not broken out however in the data as of noon on Friday.

Hospitalizations climbed to 152; there were 6 additional deaths reported.

Rhode Island has now recorded 1,201 COVID-19 related fatalities. 

There have been 32,874 positive tests reported on 1.1 million tests.
