“Live-streaming is the next frontier for performing arts companies, and we’re excited to make the leap with the group of artists that we’ve assembled," said Josh Short, founder, and artistic director of Wilbury Theatre.

"In addition to the incredibly popular drop-in classes by Mycah Hogan and Jen Mischley, this work represents our shared commitment to supporting local artists and the development of new works," said Short. "We’re glad that with the support of GoLocalProv we’re able to find a new way for these artists to continue to move the development of their work forward."

The Wilbury was the winner of the 2018 National Theatre Company Award from the American Theatre Wing.

GoLocal will carry all of the performances and promote them on social media and through advertising at no charge to the theater company.

"The coronavirus is causing chaos for many businesses and non-profit groups. We are at risk of losing some of the very best parts of Rhode Island. GoLocal has a big megaphone and we are working to support those organizations that are innovating to survive," said Josh Fenton, CEO and co-founder of GoLocal.

"We hope the community will watch the performance and classes, and also consider making a contribution to support the theater community," said Fenton.
