WEATHER UPDATE: RI's Storm Outlook for Friday Afternoon

The massive storm spinning over RI yesterday and today may leave as little as a few inches or up to a foot, depending on where you live.
The massive ocean storm is over 500 miles from New England but continues to spin heavy snow into parts of Southern New England this morning. The storm center will loop slowly off to the east over the next several hours and the heavy bands of snow that have been pounding areas of central and eastern Massachusetts will gradually weaken and come to an end later today.

Oddly, most of Rhode Island has escaped the heaviest of the snow with just a few slushy inches but just a few miles away over Central and Eastern Massachusetts snow totals of well over a foot are quite common.

Coastal communities of Eastern Massachusetts have been taking a beating from the sea and surf and will continue to do so through the rest of the day. The storm will finally pull away altogether tonight with sunshine and highs in the 40s expected through the weekend.
