Frederick entered the United States Air Force in 1953, where he served his country as a Meteorological Technician. He was stationed longest in England, where his wife Anne gave birth to their son, Michael. Some of his fondest memories were from his time spent in England. After his release from the military, Fred obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College.  He was a lifelong Federal employee, working for NASA Electronic Research Center, The Department of Transportation and as a Computer Systems Analyst at the Naval Underwater Systems Center in Newport, RI.  He had many intellectual interests.

Frederick was the loving father of Michael S. Woolfall of Littleton, CO, Sheila A. DelGrande, and her husband Anthony, Dr. Karen L. Woolfall-Quinn, and her husband Dr. Donn Quinn, and Kimberly A. Merola, and her husband Eugene, all of Cranston; grandfather of Erica M. DelGrande, Lauren E. Archambault, Mara E. Quinn, and Rachael K. Quinn. He was the brother of Sarah Lumbert of FL, and the late David Woolfall and Ann Alves. Fred is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. They will all miss him dearly, especially his timeless wisdom and commitment to good deeds, and it would be remiss not to mention his wit, inquisitive nature and appreciation of a good chuckle.

Fred’s family would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Colin Harrington for his care and support throughout the years. In addition, the family would like to express gratitude to Alex, Solange, and Maria of Bayada Home Healthcare, his nurse Amy of Veterans Home Based Primary Care and the exceptional care given by Clara, Joyce, and Kerri, all who cared for Fred on a daily basis.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston.

Interment with Military Funeral Honors in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston will follow.
