Air Force Veteran, John P. "Jack" Sullivan, of Cranston, Dies at 90
He was the loving husband of the late Marie (Ryan) Sullivan for 54 years.
Born in Providence, RI, Jack was the eldest child of the late Patrick and Mary (Cassidy) Sullivan.
He was a graduate of La Salle Academy, Class of 1948, and honorably served his country as a medic in the U.S. Air Force. Jack was employed by Gerber for 38 years as a sales representative. He was an avid sports enthusiast, whether it was playing basketball and baseball as a young man to enjoying a round of golf with his friends well into his 80’s. Jack was a dedicated New England sports fan. He enjoyed imparting his knowledge of sports as a coach, serving many years as one of the founding coaches of the Edgewood Eagles Football Team. He was also a member of the St. Paul Council – Knights of Columbus.
Jack is survived by his three children: Patricia Sullivan, Elizabeth (Lisa) Lopes, and Christopher Sullivan. He was the grandfather of Caleb (Kimberly) and Mariesa Lopes, Hannah and Ethan Sullivan, and the great-grandfather of Jack and Cecilia Lopes. He was the brother of Raymond Sullivan and Mary Burke. He was pre-deceased by his brother, George Sullivan.
Jack was a kind, considerate and compassionate man who will be profoundly missed by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 10:00 am at St. Paul Church, 1 Saint Paul Place, Cranston. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
