Andrew D. Long of Chepachet Dies at 19

Andrew D. Long, 19, of Chepachet, passed away unexpectedly on October 13. He was the only child of Melanie (Johnson) Wedoff and step-son of Eric Wedoff and step-brother to Nathan and Kimberlyn Wedoff. He was a 2022 graduate of Ponaganset High School where he was a proud member of the Chamber Chorus.

He was the loving grandson of JoAnn Johnson of Foster and the late Peter Johnson. He is survived by his aunts and uncles; Matthew Johnson of Warwick & Noelle Johnson of East Greenwich; Meredith French & husband Joseph of North Carolina; Adrienne Johnson-Lister and husband Cameron of California. He is also survived by his cousins, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Mackenzie, Gwyneth, Piper and Isabelle.
Andrew was a kind-hearted, outgoing and generous young man. He would do anything for anyone with a smile and a positive attitude. He loved spending time with his family and they enjoyed many adventures together. He also liked giving back to his community. He was a former member of Boy Scout Troop 101, and a volunteer for the St. Paul the Apostle Food Pantry, the Dare to Dream Ranch, and the Foster Public Library. While he always enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing new things, his passion was music – and he was an avid guitarist.
Andrew was employed by UPS and was a member of the Teamsters Local Union 251.
Andrew touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 4-6:30 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville. The family requests that donations in Andrew’s memory be made to the Music Program at Ponaganset High School 137 Anan Wade Road, North Scituate, RI 02857, Attention: Derek Sabatini, choral director.
