Architect, William F. Jervis, of Cranston, Passes at 76

William F. Jervis, 76, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Thornton) Jervis and the late Ann (Leathers) Jervis.  Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Fred and Lillian “Jo” (Hopkins) Jervis.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving son Fred Jervis; stepsons Ben, Bob, and Brad Ingegneri; 10 cherished grandchildren; dear sister Mary Cline; sister-in-law Maxine Paquette; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Chevy.

Bill was an esteemed architect. He received his diploma from the Boston School of Architecture and went on to become a member of the American Institute of Architects. He designed homes, churches, and businesses throughout Rhode Island, nearby Massachusetts, as well as the Dominican Republic. He also taught architecture for a few years at the Rhode Island School of Design. Besides his passion for architecture, Bill was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast who rode trials events in the expert class. He was also a high school all-star baseball player who went on to try out for the Yankees.

 

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.  Burial will be private.
