Chair of CCRI Engineering Dept., Veteran Edward “Ted” Ross Dies at 83
Edward “Ted” Ross, 83, of Whipple Road, Glocester, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Gretchen Anne (Jodrie) Ross.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John B. Ross and the late Rita (Gosselin) Ross. He had lived in Glocester for 33 years and had previously lived in Warwick.
Ted was Chair of the Engineering Department and a Professor and at CCRI for 38 years before retiring in 2004. He had also worked at Grinnell Corporation and Electric Boat.

Ted served in the US Army.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons: Jon Andrew Ross of Draper, UT, Christian Robert Ross of Chepachet, his siblings: Beverly R. Scarpellino of Lincoln, Lorraine Charnley of Smithfield and Paul Desforges of Smithfield and his grandchildren: Liam, Jack, Rylan and Kian Ross.
His funeral service will be held Friday at Noon in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
