Christine (Donovan) McKeen, of West Greenwich, Passes at 90
Born on September 12, 1930, in Providence, RI, she was the wife of the late Norman McKeen and the daughter of the late Arthur Donovan and Christine (Costello) Parmelee and Gordon Parmelee.
Christine was a bookkeeper for her husband’s company RI Building Specialist Inc., West Greenwich, RI, for many years. She was also the former co-owner of Middlebrook Country Club, Rehoboth, MA. She was a registered nurse at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI, in the labor and delivery unit for ten years. She was also a registered nurse at Woman and Infants, Providence, RI, in the postpartum ward and emergency room. She was a childbirth educator at Kent Hospital for twenty-six years with her dear friend Candase Patenaude.

She also was a Church outreach volunteer for the elderly. Christine loved to sing and dance and her favorite song was “Brown Eyed Girl”. She enjoyed the company of her sweet cat Tommy. With all her great accomplishments Christine had achieved, she felt her greatest was that of her family who she loved dearly.
Christine is survived by four daughters; Lauren Heroux, Lynn (James) McLeroy and Julie (Roxana) McKeen, Christa (Peter) Andrews, three sons; Terry (Susan) McKeen, Russell (Diane) McKeen, and Douglas (Doreen) McKeen, two brothers; Gordon Parmelee and Gerald Parmelee, twenty-four grandchildren; Kerri, Jodi, Sandi, Staci, Jaclyn, Kristen, John, Andy, Becca, Danielle, TJ, Jeffrey, Jason, Kelly, Bryan, David, Justine, Megan, Shawn, Matthew, Taylor, Nathan and Arthur, thirty-five great-grandchildren; John, Ryan, Megan, Alyssa, Gavin, Trevor, Devin, Tyler, Anthony, Gianna, Kyle, Olivia, Dylan, Zachary, Jackson, Noah, James IV, Juliana, Trinity, Brandon, Marina, Payson, Warren, Alexa, Terry III, Sophia, Emma, Lucas, Owen, Ricky, Julia, Mya, Javian, Meadow and Hayden, and five great great grandchildren; Aubrey, Aria, Asher, Baby Grant, and Baby Davis. She was predeceased by her grandson; Scott McKeen and her son-in-law; Dennis Heroux.
A funeral will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 10:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI, followed by a graveside service at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry, RI.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
