He leaves behind his loving mother, Sally, and devoted siblings: David Gravino, MaryAnn Soares, and her husband, Carlos Soares, who will forever cherish their memories together. He is survived by his Godsons: David Gravino Jr. and Anthony Soares, nieces: Isabella Soares and Gianna Gravino and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Guy was born a fighter. When he was younger, he had a passion for boxing and trained avidly to become a four-time Golden Glove boxing champion. A proud graduate of Johnson and Wales University, Gaetano was essential in working alongside his family in their classic Rhode Island restaurants: Iggy’s Doughboys and Chowder House and Iggy’s Boardwalk, and is the one responsible for creating Iggy’s White Chowder recipe. During his time working Guy made many connections and memories with the team as well as the loyal patrons at every location. He will be remembered for his big heart, witty comebacks and ability to make everyone in the room laugh.
Gaetano moved to Florida for a short period of time and loved the community and friends he had made there. He was a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and loved watching Sunday Night Football. During his battle with cancer, Guy’s passion for old-fashioned trains and tracks from local hobby stores kept his spirits up. He frequently scouted the best brass trains and automated tracks to run them on and was very particular about his collection. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends and watching classic 80’s and 90’s movies. His family finds comfort in knowing he is finally resting at peace and with his father again.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM, from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Kevin Church, Warwick.
