Healthcare Executive and Veteran George Warren Babcock Dies at 80
Mr. Babcock held positions of leadership in the health care community for over 30 years. Most recently, as Executive Vice President of Coastal Medicine, Inc., Mr. Babcock received a Master of Business Administration from Bryant University in 1979. He served on the board of directors of Home and Hospice Care of R.I., Claflin Continuing Care, Insight and the Rhode Island College Foundation. He was a member of the Rhode Island Commodores, the 100 Club and the Rotary Club of Providence. He was a member of the Squantum Association serving as President in 2010. In addition, he was Past Master of Lafayette Lodge No. 47, F & AM in Cumberland, R.I.

He was an avid sailor and a long-time member of the New York Yacht Club, serving on the Race Committee for 10 years. Mr. Babcock received a Commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy in 1969 and served until honorably discharged as a Lieutenant in 1972. As a civilian, he was a member of the Navy League of the United States.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his nephew, David Hemming, in Connecticut.
The funeral will be held Saturday, January 24, at 10 am in the Community Church of Providence, 372 Wayland Ave. Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Swan Point Cemetery.
