Joshua Michael Alger Dies in Motorcycle Accident at Age 29

A sweet soul, a good son, and a loving dad is gone too soon! Joshua M. (Josh) Alger, 29, died suddenly and tragically in a Woonsocket motorcycle accident on Sunday July 2, 2023. Born in Natick, MA, on January 2, 1994, he was the beloved son of Maureen Alger of Manville and the late Patrick Concannon.
Raised and educated in Bellingham, MA, Josh attended the former Primavera School. He was a proud member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, Local 271, and a loyal & long-time employee of Smithfield-based AGI Construction, Inc. where he served in various capacities and derived his greatest professional satisfaction in the pipefitting trade and through interactions with his co-workers by whom he’ll be sorely missed. He also did many odd jobs, especially tasks to help others throughout his lifetime. Accordingly, we trust that God will welcome him as one of His ‘good and faithful servants’ and grant him mercy and eternal peace!
Determined never to be too deterred, detoured, derailed, or discouraged by difficulties, disappointments, or demons, Josh always persevered with courage, faith, hope, and tenacity. Extremely hardworking and honest, he was kindly and kindhearted, accepting, positive, and willing; he was an all ‘round good and decent person to the core! He loved people, children, dogs, all things ‘America’, and the freedom he enjoyed through motorcycling. He was an active member of RI Chapter 129 of the Freedom Cruisers Riding Club.
In addition to his mother, Josh leaves his sister, Patricia, of Worcester, MA, and a young son, Levi Joshua Alger of Whitinsville, MA. He was the father to another son, Joshua Michael Alger, Jr., who predeceased him. He will also be missed by his faithful canine companion, Khaleesi.
Services are being planned and will be scheduled for Josh, with details to be announced when finalized. Funeral & burial arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Berarducci Home & Cremation Care Center, 185 Spring Street, Woonsocket, RI.
Memorial donations through the Freedom Cruisers’ Riding Club [gofund.me/bb2698dc] would be very much appreciated; condolences and remembrances may be left at [providencecremation.com]. Rest in Peace, dear Josh!
