Laritson R. Duarte-Soares of Pawtucket Dies at 9
Laritson R. Duarte-Soares, 9, of Pawtucket, RI, passed away on July 6, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford, MA. Born in Brava, Cape Verde and was the beloved son of Otelinda Duarte and Timoteo Soares. He is survived by his brother Larilson Duarte Soares, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Laritson was a very kind boy; wherever he went, even without knowing the person, he would make friends instantly. This school year, he won the award of the "Best Student in the Entire School". He is known for his kind spirit and touched many lives with his sense of humor and his smile. He enjoyed playing ball, riding his bike, dancing and playing video games with his favorite cousin Edvany. During every school vacation he liked to go to his aunts Anabelas (Nany) in New Bedford so he could be closer to her and his cousins, especially Edvany.
Laritson brought so much love, laughter and light to anyone that had the joy of knowing him. He will be missed, loved and forever remembered for his loving soul.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, from 9 am-11am with a service at 11am in the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence.
