Margaret “Maggie” M. (Better) Harnois of North Kingstown Dies at Age 98
Margaret “Maggie” M. (Better) Harnois, age 98 of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 4, 2022 with family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur J. Harnois. Born in Revere, MA, she was a daughter of Robert and Alice (Cummings) Better.
Mrs. Harnois worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at Wickford Middle School for 17 years. She was a Communicant of St. Bernard Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and gardening. Above all, she loved spending time in her home with friends and family.
She was the beloved mother of William Harnois (Germaine) of Kennebunk, ME, James Harnois (Sheila) of Satellite Beach, FL, Linda Pepen (Jose) of Indialantic, FL, and Kathy Santos (Richard) of Jamestown; devoted grandmother of Michael Harnois (Libby), Maggie McDade (John), Stephen Harnois (Sara), Catherine Harnois, David Pepen (Tonya), Daniel Pepen (Danielle), Timothy Harnois (Alicia), Scott Santos (Courtney), Eric Santos (Heather), James Harnois, and Steven Santos (Heather); great-grandmother of Jake, Brooke, Lauren, Emma, Olivia, Miles, Adeline, Aria, Lily, and Dane; caring sister of Betty McDonald of Barre, MA, and the late Robert Better, William Better, Richard Better, and Isabel Dow. Mrs. Harnois is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home of North Kingstown.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather in Procession at 9 am on Thursday, June 9, 2022, in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd., North Kingstown. Her burial will be in the RI Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
