Maria Luisa "Chilli" Ortiz Dies at 43

Maria Luisa "Chilli" Ortiz, 43, passed away on October 8, 2024, in Providence, RI. Born on December 25, 1980 in San Juan, PR, she lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and spiritual growth. Maria served as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a role through which she touched the lives of many people, particularly the elderly whom she cared for with great dedication.

Maria's life was a testament to her strong faith and commitment to her beliefs. She was an active member of the Temple of the Great King Church in Providence, where she devoted much of her time and found great comfort and community. Her recent spiritual transformation was evident to all who knew her as she lived her values ​​of kindness, love, and service every day.

Maria is survived by her children, Marianjeliz, Joseph, Isahac, and Henry Ortiz; sisters, Barbara Berdecia, Jessica Vargas, and Barbara Ortiz; Nephews & Nieces; Aunts, Maria De Lourdes Nieves Rosa and Armand's Nieves Rosa. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ana Celia Nieves Rosa; husband, Tomas Torres; and aunt, Ramona Marquez.

Funeral services will be held at Bell Funeral Home, 571 Broad St, Providence, RI 02907. Maria's life and legacy will be honored in a ceremony that reflects her profound impact on her family and community. Bell Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
