Marie A. (Montecalvo) Papa of North Kingstown Dies at 84

Marie A. (Montecalvo) Papa, 84, of North Kingstown passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022 in the Greenville Skilled Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to Vincent Papa.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Rafael and Reginalda (DeRobbio) Montecalvo.

Marie loved her family and friends. She enjoyed singing and would perform for many family functions. She also taught herself how to play the organ. Marie was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in North Kingstown where she sang with the choir.

She was the mother of Susan Marshall and her husband Derek, Carol Salisbury and her husband Wayne, Anne Fisher and her husband Charles, David Papa and his wife Lori and Maryann Papa; grandmother of Charlene, Gregory, Derek, Matthew, Vincenzo and Gianna and great grandmother of Jason, Caiden, Jakob, Ethan, David, Natalie and Zachary. She was also the sister of the late Michael, Vincent and Anthony Montecalvo, Josephine Pinto and Christine Piccoli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
