He was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015.
The family made the announcement in a Facebook post on Friday afternoon.

We celebrate the life of our brother, partner and friend, Nicholas Cardi Jr. Nick passed away today after a 4 year courageous battle with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick’s wife and son, along with our entire family.
From our grandmother Rosa starting Cardi's Furniture in 1928, to our dad, Nicholas Cardi Sr. and uncle Peter, to NIROPE, Nick, Ron and Pete, our Cardi family tradition in the furniture and mattress business continues with Ron, Pete and our entire team of employees, for many years to come. In celebration of the legacy of our family, we are comforted with memories as we continue serving our communities now and in the future.
