Obituary: Todd Carpenter Passes at Age 52
He was the beloved son of H. William and Joyce (Barton) Carpenter. Brother of Karen L. Monteiro (husband Mark) and Craig W. Carpenter (wife Susie). Uncle of Kelsey N. Casey (husband Brandon), Lauren V. Richards (husband Kyle), Kyle A. Carpenter, Alexander J. Grover and Avery, Lucas & Hudson.
Todd, who was a 1984 graduate of Cranston High School West, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech University in 1989. Todd was a regional sales manager for SWAN Analytical Instruments. He previously worked for over 20 years for WIKA Instrument and later for Unifruitii of America before joining SWAN.
He traveled extensively around the world, for business and pleasure. He enjoyed many rounds of golf across the United States and he hit the slopes skiing in New Hampshire and in the Alps. Always athletic, he played basketball for CLCF and on the boy’s varsity team in high school. A “Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech”, he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Todd has left his family and many, many friends way too early. He will truly be missed, but will remain in our hearts forever.
His life will be celebrated at calling hours on Friday, December 21 from 5-8 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 PM. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
At his family’s request, please omit flowers. Donations in Todd’s memory may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
