Obituary: Violet I. Rickett, Passes at 77

Violet I. Rickett, 77, of Bishop Hill Road, Johnston, died Saturday at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of William A. Rickett, Sr. They had been married for 61 years. 

Born in Pittsfield, Maine, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Lavina F. (Wescott) Payne. She had lived in Johnston for 41 years. 

Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Debora Pires of Providence, William Rickett, Jr. of Woonsocket, Cindy Rickett of Johnston, David Rickett of Johnston, Donald Rickett of North Providence and Rebecca Rickett of Providence. She also leaves 33 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was the mother of the late Victoria Cariglio and Brenda Rickett and sister of the late Ernest and Harry Payne. She also leaves a cousin Erna Carver and her husband Fred of Sanford, ME. 

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, February 27th at 12:30 pm in the Chapel at Highland Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 27th from 10 am to 12 noon in the Anderson-WInfield Home, Greenville.
