Owner of New England Frozen Lemonade Anthony J. Lombardi Dies at 83

Anthony J. Lombardi, 83, a lifelong resident of Warwick, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol R. (Allen) Lombardi, with whom he shared 60 cherished years of marriage.

 

Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Armondo and Anna (Polselli) Lombardi.

Anthony was the proud Founder and Owner of New England Frozen Lemonade for 60 years. He worked alongside his sons and grandsons, right up until this past season, creating a legacy that will endure in the community he cherished. A true entrepreneur, his unwavering confidence to take on new challenges brought him much success throughout his life. He was the Owner of Airport Autobody for 25 years, and had multiple Christmas Tree locations within the state for over 50 years.

 

A true sports enthusiast, he was an avid supporter of Warwick Youth Sports and loved to cheer on the Oregon Ducks women’s softball team, passionately supporting his daughter-in-law, who is the head coach.

 

Anthony had an infectious smile that could light up a room, and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His favorite time spent was with his wife Carol, escaping the New England winters in Florida. Anthony never missed a game, and loved to watch his children and grandchildren succeed in sports over the years. His strong devotion to his family will forever be remembered.

 

Anthony is survived by his loving children, Robert R. Lombardi and his wife Jo-Ann of Smithfield, and John T. Lombardi and his wife Melyssa of Eugene, OR; beloved sister, Patricia A. Lombardi; son-in-law, John Perrino; cherished grandchildren, Robert, Anthony, Gianni, and Kristylee; loving great-grandchildren, Adriana, Aaliyah, and Isabella; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was the father of the late Donna M. Perrino, and Anthony J. Lombardi, Jr., and brother of the late Joan Padula and Robert Lombardi.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to join his Funeral Service at 10:00 am, from the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church, Warwick. Burial to follow will take place in All Saints Cemetery, (rt.5), Warwick. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm.
