Providence Fire Lieutenant Christopher J. "Trigger" Jannitto Dies at 59

Lieutenant Christopher J. "Trigger" Jannitto, 59 of Warren died Friday, October 1st at Hope Hospice Center.

Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Frederick and Joan (Rene) Jannitto.

He was the beloved husband of Megan Rossi-Jannitto. Chris lived most of his life in Warren but also lived in Lincoln and Bristol.

Christopher was a member of the Providence Fire Department for 30 years. Before his death, he was a Lieutenant on Engine 13. He had also belonged to Engines 8, 2, and 12 as well as the Special Hazards.

His memberships included Providence Fire Fighters IAFF Local 799 where he was a past Executive Board Member; Rhode Island Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums; International Association of Fire Fighters and the Warren Rod and Gun Club. Chris played hockey on the Providence Fire Department team for several years.

When he wasn't saving lives, Chris enjoyed kayaking and paddleboarding on the Keckemuit River and spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. His personality, quick wit, and infectious smile will never be forgotten by those who were lucky enough to know him.

Besides his wife, he leaves behind his two daughters, Niki and Samantha Jannitto; his brother Joseph F. Jannitto and his wife Pamela; his niece Alicia Jannitto and his nephew Micheal Jannitto all of Bristol. He was also a brother of the late Sgt. Michael J. Jannitto.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren where family will receive friends, Sunday October 10, 2021 4-8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday October 11th in St Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren at 10 am.

Burial will be in St Mary of the Bay Cemetery.
