Providence Firefighter and Veteran Alfred C. Lamothe Jr.,of Warwick Dies at 82

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfred Lamothe Sr., and Norma (Gendreau) Lamothe. Mr. Lamothe was a Providence Firefighter for 32 years before retiring. Alfred was the Vice Commander of the Civil Air Patrol, where he was a well-known instrument-rated flight instructor for over 30 years. He was a recipient of the Citizen Citation for Bravery award, recipient of Airman of the Year award, various awards from the Federal Aviation Administration, amongst many other decorated awards he received throughout his life. Alfred was a US Airforce veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-granddaughter.
Besides his wife Marianne, he is survived by his loving children, Steven Lamothe and his wife Kathy of South Carolina, Darlene Coppola of Johnston, Anita Lamothe of Johnston, and Alfred Lamothe III and his wife Danielle of West Warwick. He was the cherished grandfather of Jonathan Lamothe, Brianna Coppola, Ralph Coppola IV, Olivia Coppola, Jacob Lamothe, Ella Rose Lamothe, Daniel Lamothe, Andrew Lamothe and Ryan Lamothe, as well as his great-granddaughter Julianna Coppola-Williams, his cherished birthday buddy. He was the brother of Norma Terrien of Connecticut.

Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Kevin’s Church, Warwick. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
