Retired Providence Police Detective, Robert E. Miele Sr., Passes at 71

Robert E. Miele Sr., 71, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Kent Hospital in Warwick with his family by his side.  

He was the beloved husband of Susan E. (Perrotti) Miele. 

Born in Providence, Robert was a son of the late Ernest S. and Lucy (Fascia) Miele.

He was a Detective for the Providence Police Department for many years, before retiring.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Stephanie S. Miele Carney and her husband Brian Carney of Florida, and Robert E. Miele, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Coventry. Robert was the cherished grandfather of Jack Carney, and Alexis, Kylie, and Logan Miele.  He was the brother of Michael Miele and the late Joyce Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. 

Visiting hours are on Friday from 5-8 p.m. 

Inurnment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Day One or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
