Retired Teacher Oakland Beach Elementary, Kathryn Zachirchuk, of Cranston, Dies

A lifelong resident of Cranston, she was a daughter of the late John and Nina Zachirchuk.
Kathy earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master's Degree in Reading from the University of Rhode Island in 1975. She worked as a school teacher for Oakland Beach Elementary School in Warwick for many years before her retirement.

In the best of her days, she enjoyed horseback riding and line dancing. She also had a special passion for animals. She was loved by all who knew her.
She leaves a brother John Zachirchuk, her dear friends Rhonda A. Sand and her husband Jeff, Roberta Abrahamson, her nieces, Brianna, Karissa, Adriana, and Sierra Briceno; Nadine Hancock, Robert Skorohod, Tanya Skorohod – Johnson, Constance Whiddon, and Greg and George Skorohod; her godchildren, Michael, Alicia, Mark, and Raylin, her great-nieces and nephews, Amelia, Aurora, Chase, Hunter, and her cousin, Michael Kucher.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, 71 Manville Hill Road, Cumberland.
The funeral service will begin at 6:30 pm.
Burial will be Friday afternoon in Mount Hope Cemetery, 355 Walk Hill Street, Boston (Mattapan), MA 02131.
