Retired URI Police Lieutenant, James "Jim" E. McDonald, of Saunderstown, Passes

Jim was a devoted father to Thomas McDonald married to Lindsay McDonald and his daughter, Shelley McDonald. Jim leaves a loving sister, Michelle McDonald Bier, and three brothers Micheal McDonald, Kevin McDonald, and Patrick(Tim) McDonald.
Jim was a graduate of Chariho high school in 1974. He was a police cadet in the early ’70s, followed by a security guard at the University of Rhode Island. After graduating from the police academy in 1975, Jim was a U.R.I. police officer for 31 years. Later retiring as Lieutenant.
During his youth, he was an altar boy at St Thomas Moore Church and St Verconias chapel in Narragansett during the ’60s to '70s. He also delivered the newspapers daily in Mettatuxet.
Jim was an avid collector of old tv shows and movies on CDs and video. He loved the Red Sox, Patriots, and U.R.I. basketball. He loved cars and trucks. He could tell you about each year and what made them special.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He would put a smile on your face and make you laugh.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 30 at 11 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, South Kingstown.
