Retired Warwick Police Captain, John P. Lytle, Jr. of West Greenwich, Passes at 70

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John P. Lytle, Sr and Mary V. “Vicky” (Rogers) Lytle. He was the loving husband of Patricia Ann (Lukowicz) Lytle, his Princess and soulmate.
John was a graduate of Salve Regina University and Roger Williams University. Always dedicated to helping others, he became a member of the Warwick Police Department, rising to the rank of Captain before his honorable retirement in 1992.
He was a member of the Warwick F.O.P. and spent many years as a Coach for Continental Little League. John was a deeply devoted husband and family man with abounding compassion, charisma, loyalty, and selflessness. As a loving husband, father, and proud Papa, he was the heart of his family which always came first for him. By far, his greatest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He was proud of his Irish heritage, known for his uncanny ability to find four-leaf clovers, his love for the Red Sox, Patriots, and Fantasy Football, as well as the Scorpion Bowl tradition. John was an avid golfer and a member of the Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club where he especially enjoyed time spent with his “Butcher & Baggers” Quota Group friends.
In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by his beloved children, John P. Lytle III of Colorado, Christopher F. Lytle (Karen) of Richmond, and Marissa L. Hudson (Robbie) of Hopkinton, and by his brothers, Lt. Richard C. Lytle, WFD Retd. (Janet) of Westerly and Capt. Stephen F. Lytle, CPD Retd. (Colleen) of Warwick, his sister, Capt. Deborah M. Lytle Houston, ACI Retd. (Stephen) of Marston, NC, and seven grandchildren, Julia Lytle, Jameson Lytle, Sophie Lytle, Sierra Lytle, Elowen Lytle, Harper Hudson, and Hadlee Rose Hudson.
