RI Singer Michael ‘Mickey’ J. Flynn of Warwick Dies at 74

Michael ‘Mickey’ J. Flynn, age 74, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born in Providence, he was one of seven children born to the late Andrew S. and Veronica (DeMars) Flynn.

Blessed with the gift of song, he showcased his musical talents with various singing groups. He was a longtime member of the Narragansett Bay Chorus, which is a local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. With that group, he spent time traveling and competing and was a Northeastern District Champion multiple times. Together with a few of his friends, he formed the 1960s Doo Wop group ‘The Hudsons,’ which played weekly gigs and could be heard on the radio. He was also a champion left-handed DuckPin Bowler, having belonged to various bowling leagues, most notably the Airway 32 league. When he wasn’t singing or bowling, Mickey enjoyed swimming at McDermott Pool, floating with the ‘Noodle Club’ at Healthtrax, or relaxing at Sam’s Inn. A lifelong resident of Warwick, Mickey was one of the friendliest people you could meet. He was always kind, quick with a joke, and someone who could brighten your day without even trying.
