Rita J. (Morgan) Christie, 93, of Providence Dies at 93

Rita J. (Morgan) Christie, 93, of Providence died Wednesday at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care. She was the wife of the late Kenneth B. Christie.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Patrick A. and Agnes G. (Maher) Morgan, she was a lifelong Providence resident. Mrs. Christie was an operator at the New England Telephone Company for over forty years before retiring in 1991.

She leaves five sons, Kenneth B. Christie, Jr. of Providence, Kevin P. Christie of Providence, Dennis P. Christie of Providence and David M. Christie of East Providence; Two daughters, Barbara A. Salisbury of Cranston and Ann Marie Flynn of Hope; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Stephen A. Christie and was the sister of the late John, Gene and Mary Morgan.

Her funeral will be Tuesday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Michael Church, 239 Oxford Street, Providence at 10 AM. Calling Hours 8 AM one hour prior to the funeral.
