Sean Christopher Walsh of North Kingstown Dies at 57

Sean Christopher Walsh, 57, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 22, 2022. Born in Norwalk, CT, he was the son of the late Roger and Lucille (Card) Walsh. He was the beloved husband of Holly (Rawlings) Walsh.

For heights and depths that no word can reach, music is the souls own speech. Sean’s greatest passion, besides his family, was his love for music. Throughout his life he joined others who shared his passion playing in many bands of different genres including Southbound, Nexus, Thermal Fish, Tuco, Rugburn, Ladies of the Rolling Pin, Poor Richard, and the Romantic Ruffians. The deep bonds between Sean and his bandmates created lifelong friendships and countless hilarious stories.

Sean enjoyed connecting with nature and being outdoors. Some of his favorite vacation destinations included the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the wilderness of Maine for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, camping, and floating down the Saco River with family and friends.

Sean’s calm presence and encouraging words of wisdom touched countless co-workers and clients in his 34-year career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). He worked at several agencies throughout his career including Family Service of Rhode Island, South Shore Mental Health, South County Community Action, Tri-County Community Action Agency, and Thundermist Health Center.

Sean will also be remembered for his quick wit, unique sense of humor, and always seizing the opportunity for shenanigans.

Besides his wife, Sean is survived by his sons Connor and his wife Amanda (Tiverton), Liam (Newport), and Aidan (Boston). He was the seventh of eight children: Buddy, Danny, Jerry, Maureen, Kathy, Kevin and Janet, and Uncle to 17 nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 2 to 4 PM at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield; followed by a Celebration of Life and Words of Remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
