U.S. Marine, Vietnam War Veteran William McHale Dies at 79

William McHale, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marie A. (Roby) McHale for 48 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late James A. and Ruth (Macatee) McHale. William was the loving father of Timothy W. McHale and his wife, Mirna and Kevin L. McHale and his wife, Tara. Loving grandpa to William, Joseph, Alexandra and Ethan. He was the brother of Elaine B. Braga and the late James M. McHale, Alta A. Lebreque, and Janice C. McHale. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

 

William was an owner and operator of PRM Concrete, owner and operator of JJ McHale and Sons Real Estate with his cousins. He was a member and past president of the East Greenwich Rotary and a member of the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce. William served his country honorably with the US Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 11 am in Ss. Rose & Clement Church, Long St., Warwick. He will be laid to rest in the family lot of Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. His visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 4-7 pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02884, will be appreciated.
