US Army Veteran and Providence Police Officer Nicholas J. Fuvich of Coventry Dies at 86

Born in Providence, a son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Newton) Fuvich, he had been a resident of Coventry for the past twelve years and had previously resided in Narragansett.
Mr. Fuvich served as a police officer in the City of Providence for twenty-eight years before his retirement in 1998. He also served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Providence FOP and was a long-time supporter of the Providence Boys and Girls Club.

Clegg Hughes (Charles) of Cumberland, Candace A. Heatherton (Raymond) of Narragansett, and Peter W. Fuvich (Jennifer) of Coventry. He was the grandfather of Amanda Fuvich, Samantha Fuvich, the late Lindsey Clegg, Kara Heatherton, Nicole Fuvich, Sidney Clegg, and Andrew Fuvich. He was the brother of the late William Fuvich and Russell Fuvich.
His funeral will be Thursday, August 15th at 8:45 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry at 10 AM. Calling Hours: Wednesday, 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the RISPCA (www.rispca.org) 155 Plan Way Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
