Joe also coached Apponaugs girls’ softball for 25 years. During those years he had taken the girls to several national tournaments. Joe also had a great love for boating and Antique Cars. He was a machinist at Sheldahl, Davol, and Beard and a graduate of Johnson and Whales College.
Joe was a handyman who always helped everyone including neighbors. He was a major helper in the building of the Apponaug Girls softball field back in the late 1980s. A 70-hour week was his base, as a machinist, before he helped every person, everywhere. He would drive his tractor, do his lawn, and then -proceed to do the lawn of every person that needed it in the neighborhood. He knew how to fix anything. Cars, washers, dryers, lawnmowers, boats, and machines of any type. He was at the same time the nicest man you’d ever know.
Joe was my best friend, my Love, and my soul mate. He was my rock and strength. I will carry him in my heart until we meet again.
