WWII Veteran, Edmund Joseph Cameron, Dies at 99

Ed was predeceased by his wife Eve of 70 years and his four brothers, Bub, Robert, Steve, and Rod Cameron. Ed leaves behind his four children, Jane and her husband Bill O'Connor of Rehoboth, MA, Amy and her husband Russell Oja of Murrell's Inlet, SC, Claire and her husband Chris Lalik of Burleson, TX, and James Cameron and partner Curt Befumo of St Petersburg, FL.
He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Michael and his wife Melissa O'Connor of SC, Jennifer and her husband David Silva of MA, Andrew Oja and his wife Macy of Virginia, Katie, Caroline, and Jack Lakik of TX, and five great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Griffin, and John O'Connor of SC and Nicholas and Nathan Silva of MA.

He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines in WWII after graduating from Kings Point Academy in NY. Ed also worked several jobs in New York in the freight forwarding industry.
A memorial will be planned at a future date.
