WWII Veteran, Edward Allen Ramsey, of Coventry, Dies at 92

Edward Allen Ramsey, 92, of Coventry, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at home. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Peter E. and May Elizabeth (Morgan) Ramsey. He was the loving husband of Doris F. (Jobe) Ramsey.

Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He later worked as a Supervisor for Narraganset Electric for twenty-five years. He was also the Lead Rescue Officer for the Western Coventry Volunteer Fire Department. In his free time, he was involved in the Coventry “Pop Warner” Football League and the Coventry Boxing Association.

In addition to his wife Doris, he is survived by his beloved children, Catherine F. Maloney, Edward A. Ramsey Jr., Steven B. Ramsey, and Timothy G. Ramsey, all of Coventry, his grandchildren, Daniel Maloney, Jessica Ramsey, Nicholas Ramsey, and Taylor Ramsey, and his great-grandson, Preston Smith.

He was the brother of the late David P. Ramsey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service to be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 12 Noon at The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
