1.  What do you think is the biggest political issue this campaign season in Rhode Island? 

The IGT/ Twin River extension, specifically the way the contract is structured. The 20 year duration and the leasing of the machines is very concerning.


2.  What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island's economy?

Regulations and fees in the state of RI have always been detrimental to small businesses. The state needs to eliminate the layers of fees and regulations that mitigate small businesses ability to grow.

 

3.  What is the greatest challenge facing Rhode Island as a state? 

The greatest challenge our state faces currently is navigating the state through the COVID-19 crisis. The budget short falls will be very challenging as well as building a blueprint for schools to open safely.

 

4.  Why are you running for office? What makes you uniquely qualified?  


I am the present State Representative for District 28 Coventry and as a Representative I reside on four committees which have given me a sound understanding of how government operates. In addition as someone who presently owns a small business that has been operating for the past 30 years in RI, I understand the challenges businesses face.

 

5.  Who is your inspiration?  

My parents have equally inspired my life. My Dad was a union sheet rock hanger and my Mom worked part time while raising three children. Both have been very instrumental in my life.

 

Biography;

George Nardone is a life long Rhode Islander and has resided in Coventry for the past 22 years. He is married to his wife Dawn for the past 26 years and has one daughter. A 1982 graduate of Scituate High School, George has owned of a small business for the past 30 years and is the current RI State Representative for House District 28 Coventry. He sits on four committees, Corporation’s, Municipal Government, Small Business and Special Legislation.
