Ben & Jerry's Launches New Flavor Supporting Police Reform Legislation for People to "Breathe Free"

Ben & Jerry's, the Vermont-based ice cream company, has launched a new flavor -- in support of police reform legislation.

The company took to Twitter Monday to make the announcement (see photo).

According to the company's website, the flavor "Change is Brewing" is "Cold Brew Coffee Ice Cream with Marshmallow Swirls & Fudge Brownies."

"Change is Brewing! Grab your spoon & dig into a flavor boldly celebrating safety & liberation for all. It’s time to divest from systems that criminalize Black communities & invest in a vision of public safety that allows everyone to breathe free," writes Ben & Jerry's. "Learn more about a visionary plan to reimagine public safety and take action below!"

Proceeds from the new flavor will partly go to support Rep. Cori Bush‘s $10 billion bill that seeks to replace police officers with social workers in certain incidents.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to “grassroots groups working to transform public safety in America,” according to Ben & Jerry’s, who has been a supporter of the police defunding movement since 2020.
