Block Pumps $100,000 Into Campaign

He may not be registering much in the polls, but Moderate Party candidate for governor Ken Block has amassed a war chest far larger than what the two Republican candidates have combined.

The latest campaign financial reports filed yesterday show that Block loaned his campaign $100,000 in the second quarter, ending with $203,991 in available cash. Republican candidate for governor John Robitaille ended the quarter with just $40,856 in cash while fellow Republican Victor Moffitt had $16,895.

But, in the race for money, Block is still behind Democrat Frank Caprio (who had $1.7 million in cash at the end of the quarter) and independent Lincoln Chafee (who had $420,044).
