Campaign Update – Caprio and Chafee Tied in Latest Poll

Caprio pulled slightly ahead with 33 percent of voters supporting him while Chafee was close behind at 30 percent. Republican John Robitaille had 19 percent, Moderate Ken Block had 4 percent, and 15 percent of voters were still undecided. The poll had a 4.38 percent margin of error.
The poll, which was based on a survey of 500 likely voters, comes about one week after two back-to-back polls—one showed Caprio ahead, the other gave Chafee a narrow lead.

Most Voters Also Oppose Schilling Deal, But Support Wind Farm
The same WPRI poll also found that 54 percent of voters oppose the state’s $75 million loan guarantee to Curt Schilling’s video game company. Just 28 percent liked it, while 17 percent weren’t sure.
However, 56 percent were OK with the Deepwater Wind project, saying they would be willing to pay $1.35 to $3 more on electricity bills a month to make it happen. Only 32 percent were opposed and 12 percent were unsure.
