Central Falls Democrats Endorse Gorbea for Secretary of State

The Central Falls Democratic Committee is endorsing Democratic Secretary of State candidate Nellie Gorbea. The Committee voted unanimously in favor of supporting Gorbea.

"Nellie Gorbea is clearly the most qualified candidate in this race," said Central Falls Democratic Committee Chairwoman Jackie Parra. "Her proven track record of accomplishment and impressive resume were key factors in our selecting Nellie Gorbea as our candidate for Secretary of State.” 

“The support of the Central Falls Democratic Committee means a great deal to me. It is an energized electorate and I am proud to have The Comeback City supporting my candidacy,” said Gorbea.

Gorbea was Deputy Secretary of State from 2002-2006. She is the founder of the Rhode Island Latino Civic Fund, a "nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that promotes Latino civic and political participation in Rhode Island."

Central Falls is the sixth Democratic committee to endorse Gorbea’s candidacy, joining: East Greenwich, Barrington, Coventry, Tiverton and Foster.
