BREAKING: Chafee Eyes Fogarty for Cabinet

Governor-elect Lincoln Chafee is considering former Lt. Governor Charlie Fogarty for a position in his Cabinet, according to sources familiar with the transition.

Fogarty would be the second former Democratic lieutenant governor Chafee has tapped to be in his administration. Yesterday, Chafee nominated former Lt. Governor Richard Licht to head the Department of Administration. Fogarty served as lieutenant governor from 1999 to 2007. He ran unsuccessfully against Don Carcieri for governor in 2006 and currently serves as the Director of Policy for the Mayforth Group.

A spokesman for Chafee did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
