NEW: Solomon Calls on Lusi to Revisit Providence Teacher Hiring

Michael Solomon
City Council President Michael Solomon has released a statement in response to Superintendent Susan Lusi's decision to not fire Nancy Stevenin over her unaccredited degree.

Solomon's Statement

"I have an enormous amount of respect for Superintendent Lusi and the work she has done on behalf of Providence Schools. With regard to the recent matter with Ms. Stevenin, I would respectfully ask her to revisit her decision," said Solomon.

"Ms. Stevenin should not remain in a supervisory role under false pretenses, particularly when she is in a position to influence children. To allow her to maintain her current post at her current pay grade sends the wrong message to both our students and our teachers," continued Solomon.
