From Singapore to Manhattan, They Gave to Fernandez

Joe Fernandez has a broad base of donors who are boosting his campaign for Attorney General, according to state campaign finance records. They include an executive at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the chancellor of Brown University, an inventor at Chrysler and members of his family.

David Fernandez, $4,000. Fernandez's brother and the head of the Emerging Asia Research Team for JPMorgan, based in Singapore. His resume also includes a five-year stint as an economics professor at John Hopkins University and membership on the Council of Economic Advisors for the first President Bush. His wife has also given $4,000 to her brother-in-law’s campaign.

Martin Matsui, $500. A former classmate from Brown University who is an executive at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (pictured left).

Thomas Tisch, $1,000. A New York City-based investor who has served as Chancellor for Brown University since 2007. Tisch has served on the board of directors for the Sears Holdings Corporation and the board of trustees for the Manhattan Institute for Public Policy Research, a prominent libertarian think tank. His wife, Alice Tisch, has given $1,000 to Fernandez (pictured right).

Michael Zabat, $3,000. An engineer at Chrysler who has two patents to his name for air conditioning controls. His wife, Virginia Zabat, an employee at Macy’s, has donated $3,00 as well to the campaign.
