LIVE PRIMARY UPDATE: Inside Costantino's War Room

Scott Dubin, the field director for Steven Costantino, explains to volunteers how to use the Active phone system to get voters out to the polls. He told volunteers their main message should be that the city cannot afford four more years of fiscal mismanagement.

Costantino spokeswoman Jennifer Bramley said turnout has been low. “It has been very low around the city so far,” Bramley said. “It’s hard when there’s not a gubernatorial election. It changes the dynamic a little bit.”

A variety of volunteers strolled through the headquarters this morning to make phone calls or pick up packets for door to door campaigning—students, a local businessman, a retiree. One woman brought in her German Shepherd.

Another woman carried a small bouquet of flowers. “I brought in some flowers because it’s in Buddha’s hands, which means it’s in our hands and our laps,” said June Massey.

“It’s so exciting—particularly when you have a candidate who is so true to his heart,” Massey told GoLocalProv.
