Kilmartin on Corruption: ‘Enough is Enough’

Attorney General candidate Peter Kilmartin yesterday urged all candidates for general office to support two bills that he said would end “the culture of corruption” in Rhode Island.

“Enough is enough. Unfortunately, corruption has proven that it never sleeps in the Ocean State and it can no longer be tolerated. The public is outraged and rightly so. We deserve to know where every single cent of our tax dollars is going,” Kilmartin said.

One bill, H. 7425, would make it a felony to “fraudulently engage in conduct that deprives the public of honest services.” Another bill, H.7386, would outlaw campaign contributions from state vendors to officials who make decisions on state contracts.
