Langevin Names Baffoni New Communications Director

Congressman Jim Langevin has named Anita Baffoni as his new Communications Director. 

She will take the position recently vacated by Meg Geoghegan. She is now working as the Communications Director for the Rhode Island Department of Education. 

“I am thrilled to welcome Anita as the newest addition to my team. Her genuine passion for reporting the news, coupled with her experience in local media and strong ties to Rhode Island, will make her a valuable addition to my office and to my constituents,” said Langevin.

Baffoni will take over the role beginning March 13 and will be based in Langevin’s Warwick office.

Baffoni has spent the last three years as a news reporter, first at the Kent County Daily Times and currently at WPRO News Talk Radio, covering breaking news, political issues and editorials.  

Prior to that she was a freelance writer with RI Local Magazine. She received her BA in Journalism from University of Rhode Island in 2013.

About the new position, Baffioni said ”I’m so grateful for the experiences and opportunities that have come my way since starting my career. Each one has shaped me professionally and personally. With that said, I'm thrilled to join Congressman Langevin's team and to have the opportunity to learn and further my career in a new and exciting environment."
