Loughlin: Providence ‘Completely Mismanaged’ by Cicilline

Republican Congressional candidate John Loughlin accused his Democratic opponent, David Cicilline, of completely mismanaging the city of Providence after a GoLocalProv investigation revealed that as mayor Cicilline had given out nearly $500,000 in extra vacation time to top employees.

"Providence City Hall has been completely mismanaged by Mayor Cicilline. His entire time in office has been characterized by wasteful spending and higher taxes,” Loughlin said.

He added: “Mayor Cicilline took an illegal $20,000 raise for himself, and now we find out that his top managers have collected a half million dollars in vacation time that they were not entitled to. The last thing we need in Washington is a big city mayor with a big spending problem."

The Cicilline campaign did not immediately respond to the criticism.
